R.I.P. Black Adder

Steve, aka Black Adder, had been battling with cancer since June 2013 and passed away last night according to his sister's Facebook post.

I only met Steve once in real life when he stuck in LA because he overslept and missed his plane. He was a really nice and funny guy. We will definitely miss his sense of humor and all of his contributions on FT especially on the JAL forum.

Steve, you will be missed and I hope your JGC membership will extend to wherever you are forever.

Edit: Here's an obituary for Steve written by Brian Cohen: http://www.flyertalk.com/the-gate/bl...ack-adder.html

It's always a jolt to see that one of our community has left us. My condolences to his family.

I can not understand Brian Cohen when he said that Steve flew JAL but never saw Japan.
I will have to search Black Adder posts.

That's what he told me in person. Steve always wanted to visit Japan other than the layover when connecting in Tokyo. He usually only had a short layover which he didn't get out of the airport or just stay somewhere close to Narita if it was an overnight transit. Never got the chance to get to other parts of Japan such as downtown Tokyo and be a real tourist.

He might have posted about this once before on the JAL forum but it was long time ago.

That is an amazing obituary. I didn't know Steve but his post about battling his illness and how it means he can't travel and yet he "had a good run" shows a stiff upper lip determination and grasp of the right issues that I can only hope I'll have when I'm in a similar situation.

You'll be missed Steve, thank you for being a great addition to this website ^
