CHICAGO Neapolitan Pizza Dinner (Dunning area/NW Chicago/near ORD) Fri Feb 28
In late Nov 2013, Mrs Willie & I went to Naples Italy where we of course enjoyed true Neapolitan style pizza. Upon our return I wanted to revisit the same pizza style here in Chicago.
There is actually a certification a restaurant & staff can complete to be designated as producing true Neopolitan pizza. The organization is in Naples Italy, the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, which certifies restaurants worldwide for authentic Neopolitan pizza; the certification process is extensive and extends to recipes, ingredients, cooking equipment, etc. They have certified <50 restaurants in the United States, and we in the Chicago area are blessed with three locations that have this certification: Parkers' (in Downer's Grove IL a western burb of Chicago), and two in the city of Chicago: Spacca Napoli & Rosso Forno.
So c'mon out for a rare weekend night Flyertalk dinner at Forno Rosso on Friday night February 28.
Time: 7pm
Forno Rosso Pizzeria Napoletana
3719 N Harlem Ave
Chicago, IL 60634

OK I've got cubbie, balima +1 & SirFlysALot as attending, excellent!
there are soooo many places to go
sure thing!
On a side note, to person who has had nothing but pizza in America where the crust is firm (no matter how thin or thick), a common complaint from American diners is that they feel Neapolitan pizza is undercooked as the center is 'loose'. That is just the way it comes, nothing is undercooked.
