The nomination process, IMO, has quite some room for improvement.
On a quick glance,
- There seems to be a gap between options on the poll and what FTers value - BA and FB
- Non published benefits end up on the poll - EK and TP

I think eightblack offers a fair way to tackle the above gaps

Let the winner take it as improvement feedback from their loyalty base and an opportunity to make the program better if they chose to do so.
Always positive at the end of the day.

Not only would I like to see a "Middle Seat" award for worst overall program (air, hotel, car), I'd like to see a "Bait and Switch" (or something like that) for most diluted benefit over the past 12 months.

+1 on seeing awards on the worst programs out there. A little buyer beware.

Original post said the winners would be announced in March. It's mid-April; just wondering about the results. Link?

Cheers.

My guess is they're timing it for this week & will release list of winners before the Freddies get announced on Thursday night. But that's just a guess.

IMO it was silly to say they'd be announced in March & then not make the announcement in March. There might have been a technical glitch w/ the voting (no idea if that's the case), but then announcing that wouldn't be good either.

But if IB's going to tout Flyertalk Awards, then stick to the timelines.

Cheers.

Given the wink both times in the recent replies, I'm going w/ my 'they want to announce their awards just before the Freddies awards are announced later this week to steal some of the thunder' theory

But doesn't exactly make you want to vote next year does it...

Cheers.

I wish we could award you a prize.

Looks like the FT awards have been announced, just hours before the Freddie Awards dinner. Coincidence? From Twitter:
freddieawards
In an hour, nearly 400 people will get a chance to get their picture taken with a real Freddie Award in our "modern" photo booth.
Any FTers there for the photo-op?

I looked at their web site and see DHammer53 is there. He's been on FT just as long as me. My airline of choice, AA, just won the award for best America's customer service so they're off to a good start.
