Madrid Tapas Do - Saturday 4 March 2011
Hi- Indo 79 and myself will be rolling into MAD the weekend of March 4-5, and thought it might be fun to go tapas hopping Saturday night March 5th with a few other FTers ...
Anyway, I'm not sure where we are staying (it will be in the center), I've never been to Madrid before and have never planned a DO.
Having said that, I'm going to do some research and appreciate any ideas and/or suggestions!

from the Flyertalk Europe forum, perhaps some ideas for tapas: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/europ...g-options.html
watch out for that sangria, it knocked Mrs Sweet Willie & myself on our behinds.
have fun^, wish I could make this but we'll be in Houston visiting a nephew.

I just returned from a month in Spain... Madrid is a lot of fun, you will enjoy it!
There is a new bus service from the airport that makes a few stops in the city center, definitely take that vs. the new subway because its more direct. Its a yellow bus that picks up from both T4 and outside T2.
As far as tapas go, I love the calamari... jamon is fantastic, and definitely try the octopus... with local beer. (Mahou)
Wish I could join you guys but I'll be doing dim sum in Singapore finally
