MiffSC and travelsavant have gotten me interested. (Thanks, you two!)

So Gaucho100K, noneemac+1 is a tentative yes for 2011, and if not this year, than a must-do (get it?) in 2012.

BTW, has anybody mentioned the latest Argentina visa requirements? So now it seems we DON'T need to fork over the $140 reciprocity fee.

Hi,

First, my husband and I have been talking about going back to BA for week, and if we do it will be around the end of august, beginning of Sept. So, put us down for interested - abbydancer +1

If we do go, we'll be leaving on Sunday night, and may not do everything with the group since we have some things we didn't do when we were there last year. Would that be OK?

I looked at the website, and I didn't read it that way at all. To me it read that we don't need a tourist visa, but there is now a 140.00 fee.

My challenge is that I paid the fee in February, and then my passport, with the stamp was stolen. If we do decide to go, I'll be looking into deciding if it's worth 140.00 to pursue replacing the proof of purchase.

No. You will pay the current $140 fee. You do not need to further get a visa to stay up to 90 days.

Excellent... great news !!! ^ Hope you guys can make it.

Im afraid the $140 reciprocity is very much in force... No Visa required, you just have to pay the fee and yes, it is good for 10 years.

Cheers,
Gaucho100K

I was in BsAs during Nov'07. I don't remember paying a $140 entry fee back then. Is this new since that time? I still have the entry and exit visas stamped in my passport but don't see anything showing payment of a reciprocity fee. I hate fees. But BsAs is worth every penny!:D

Oh, one more Q: Is that $AR or $US?

It is new from about January 2009.

Cow Do IV in 2008 did not have to deal with this but Cow Do V did.

and it is USD. 140.

Its what we charge them to come here.

Its what we charge them to apply for a visa, whether or not they get one. They also have to pay delivery fees to get their passports back.

Yes.. and we have to pay administrative fees to get appointments at the embassy for expatriate consular staff to interview us and make sure we are fit to visit...

BTW, our underage kids dont have to do the interview... so we go to ICANA and pay AR$150 additional administrative fee to get the visa done there.... :p

Please explain. Do I need to do this before I travel or upon arrival at EZE? And if it's there, why would I have to pay a delivery fee? double:confused:

Would love to attend - but it appears those who need visas must present themselves at a consulate for an interview.

Please put me +2 as maybe.

US passport holders must pay a reciprocity fee... its paid upon arrival and it valid for 10 years. This has been implemented just a few months ago, so for those that have not visited for a while this will be new.

Do you guys have US passports...? If so, you dont need a visa, so no need for interview. You just have to pay the reciprocity fee upon arrival at EZE. Please see above for details, or else check out the Argentina forums for more information.
