Suddenly a plethora of SF area DOs!
After a paucity, there was the DO for Capt. Denny last Saturday, and now there are (in chronological order):
July 5:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...ferrerid=14479
July 10:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...ferrerid=14479
July 11:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...ferrerid=14479
Maybe everyone should chat amongst themselves and have a bigger combined DO or something like that?
Mods -- if there's a better way to bring this to everyone's notice, feel free to move/combine/whatever this thread.
P.S. I am SO pleased I could use both "plethora" and "paucity" in the same post.

maybe not -
the mini do on the 5th needs to be near sfo as the OP has a very early flight the next am
the East Bay do is...well, the 5th in a long line of easy bay do's.
the mountain view do is ...well...in mountain view, which i would think you south bayers would be all over !
I kinda like that the SFO based dos are in different locals at different times. branching out, getting new faces than might no cross a bridge etc to get to one. Plus I am biased in favor of smaller do's generally.
as always YMMV.

Also, frankly, BIGGER is not necessarily BETTER. In fact, quite often, just the opposite, at least where get-togethers are concerned!!!

IMO, nix that idea. Mountain View, Berkeley, and SFO are sufficiently different and sufficiently far apart that combining these Dos would make no sense, and for some it would cause inconvenience. And it's nice to have a choice of different cuisines and localities, anyhow.

Doh. I know that! I've been on FlyerTalk for 10 years and have attended hundreds of FT events, large and small, all over the world, meeting many hundreds of FTers in the process.
In other words, there's no need to "instruct" me about Dos!

Let's not let this argument detract people from the most important point of the OP, which is...
that the East Bay DO 5 & Ph.D.O. is on July 11 and we'd welcome more guests!

If they were all actually close together (in space and time), I'd agree, but since 25 miles separates Berkeley and SFO, and even more to the south bay... I think at least the East Bay DO should stand apart. It also has a very specific mission: culinary adventure. Don't know about the other two but I guess squeakr addressed them, above...
Hey, we're not that easy!
