Under the theory that it's easier to cancel a reservation than get one at the last minute, I booked the Prague Marriott. Will check back periodically to see if the rate drops, as it's a bit pricey at the moment.
... Whether I make the Do is dependent on my organizing the main part of my trip (Vienna) & folding this around it, and part of that is dependent on the airline award part, which is more critical. Cheers. |
Color me and Mrs Spaceman as a MAYBE. Prague has been on our list of places we wanted to visit and now maybe a great opportunity

Move me to confirmed! I can't wait to see Prague!

Flights booked (as far as LHR at present) and will book LHR-PRG soon
Look forward to this (presuming it all goes ahead as planned) Jeff |

Hilton Prague[/URL] – approx: $125 per night - no group rate offered - - LAR: $124
Is there any advantage (other than the price) to this Hilton as opposed to the one in the Old City? It seems that the Old City Hilton is more convenient for someone who will be without a car and wants to be free to wander about the city on foot. |
A search on "prague" reveals plenty of reviews for both; http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/searc...=8426022&pp=25
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hilto...s-reviews.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hilto...s-reviews.html I guess YMMV. |

I will probably be making a reservation in the next day or two. As I will be staying for a week my choice of hotelsd becomes even more important.

As one who has lived here for over a decade, I can say definitively, you want to stay in the Hilton Old Town.

Are you bringing a car or do you plan on getting around by foot? It's been a long time since I've been to Prague, but I think being in the Old City area would be better as odds are you'll spend a lot of time there. But that's just my 2 cents, which given the exchange rate isn't worth bupkus.
Cheers. |

Add me to the list as a strong maybe. Always wanted to visit Prague and would be even better to see it with fellow Flyertalkers:D
Now gotta look for flights! |
New year, new plans
Well, as I flip over the calendar to 2011 I begin to focus on 2011 DOs. I have some great memories of Prague and would like to return. Please put me on the maybe list while I get organized.

I'm interested! Sign me up. Never been to PRG.

Why?
Because the one in Prague 8 is a an old and in need of a renovation and the one in Prague 1 was just totally renovated from top to bottom a couple of years ago when it switched from a Renaissance. Because the food is just okay at the on in Prague 8 and the food is actually good at the one in Prague 1 (They no longer have a Michelin star, but the standards are still very high). Because it's a 12 minute walk to Old Town square from Hilton Old Town versus a 30 minute walk. Yes, I know you wouldn't actually walk from the Hilton in Prague 8, you would walk to the Florence metro and take it to Mustek than switch to the green line and take it to Staromestka and then walk back down to Old Town Square. But by the time you do that it would also be about 30 min. |

I will be arriving in Prague on June 9, at 2 pm, and staying until late on June 15 (I fly out at 11:15 at night). There is an option to have a hotel limousine pick me up at the airport for 900 CZK (roughly $48) and it has room for 3 people. If one or two others will be arriving at around that time and want to split this, it becomes a good bargain. Let me know by PM. Meanwhile, servus, you can count me as a "definite". Edited to add: The limousine is now full. |
