Looks like the Sheraton deal is gone.
|
Keep an eye on the Marriotts' rates. They are notoriously LNFable. (Kayak.com alerts work well.)
|
Sorry to say, I cannot attend this one... have a wonderful time all! Hugs and best regards

It's looking more likely that I'll be able to make this.
However, I probably won't be able to make the lucky organiser's birthday lunch on the first day - I'll be arriving in PRG hopefully in the evening in time for dinner. Sorry! |
The Sheraton Prague Charles Square Hotel is back on BeatTheTimer. They have 4 rooms available at $162/night... about 2 1/2 days left.
|
Question: It does not look like I will be able to get any Czech money before I arrive in PRG. Which is easier to get accepted there -- dollars or Euros?

OK I am coming.
Flight to PRG has been booked. Arriving on BA856 on Fri 10 Jun. Which necessarily means I will miss out on servus's Birthday Bash (sorry!) but I should be there in time for dinner. Probably will be flatting with another attendee at the Hilton Prague. Having been to Prague before (and liking it), coming back should be interesting.... (in many senses of the word) Now to work out a train route and payment to get to Aachen (Germany) from Prague on 13 Jun... |

Marriotts have good rates! Book now!
I had a reservation at the Marriott before, but it was pricey at $195US. Just checked today & found the following:
All pricing US $$. Marriott - no codes whatever; just regular weekend: Marriott - $191 Exec Apts - $127 Courtyard Flora - $104 ($127 w/ brekkie for 2) Courtyard Airport - $58 ($75 w/ brekkie) On the above, both CYs are a good deal; no idea on transfer back/forth to airport, so that might lean folk to the CY in town. But, but - hang on... AAA/CAA rate (I'm guessing most automobile club rates would work) Marriott - $134!!!! (which I just booked) Exec - $119 and weirdly enough the 2 CYs shoot up to skyhigh and finally, if someone is a Marriott elite Courtyard Flora is $92.87!!!!!!!!! which includes brekkie for 2; supposedly 7 minutes from Old Town by Metro (M11 code) Hmm, maybe I'll book that one too & decide later which to go w/. My theory is that it's always easier to cancel a reservation than get one at the last minute. So I've locked in the above & will see if rates drop between now & June. If you're a Marriott person I'd book. If you're not, there are still some good prices. Cheers. |

The great thing about the Marriott downtown is that for 120CZK you can take the minibus from the airport right to the hotel.
http://cedaz.cz/public-shuttle-bus-f...gue-centre.php The great thing about the CY Flora is that it is literally 50 feet from the metro, tram, and bus. Decisions, Decisions. I'd stay in the CY Flora and save the $50, IMHO. BTW, if you stay at the Marriott downtown, don't eat lunch at the Marriott, walk across the street and eat at the Hilton, the food is much better and they have a great club sandwich. |
