It looks like Alexandria will be having its Restaurant Week - with 3 course dinners for $35.00 - from August 20 to August 29. I've made a reservation for a party of 6 at the Grille at the Morrison House, site of a successful Restaurant Week meal a couple of years ago, for 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 22. FYI: Sunday is half-priced wine night, though it's possible that the promo will be suspended during Restaurant Week.

By the way, I am slightly confused. When I looked at the Restaurant Week website (looking to set up a work lunch), it says Vidalia is participating only for lunch. I'm fine with a non-RW meal there, but one might want to anticipate the higher price without the RW deal.

Open Table has it listed for both lunch and dinner. I phoned Vidalia and the person with whom I spoke said there was some confusion - they were only supposed to be participating for lunch, but somehow on Open Table, they're listed for both. She said they're now likely to participate for both (she also said they expect to honor Restaurant Week prices for reservations made through the link on Open Table). I think we're safe to keep the reservation.

Put me on the wait list for Acadiana. When checking thier website, every Mon they have a special fix priced menu for those who can't make it. Seems to be what they are offering for resturant week.

I would request that gvdIAD put Franny and me down for the Vidalia reservation on 16Aug. Right now we are better than 50-50 to be in town thru the 17th and will confirm within a few days.

Sorry to have given gvdIAD the false alarm but I now know that we need to be in Northern Va the week before, likely on the 12th.

Hard to believe, but next week is Restaurant Week, so I thought I'd provide a reminder.

I tried calling Vidalia a couple of weeks ago to see whether I could add to the reservation, but they suggested I try back closer to the actual reservation date (oh, and they're definitely participating for dinner). Acadiana wanted a non-refundable deposit for a reservation of more than 5, but I'll try them again Thursday or Friday when I next come up for air at work to see how hard it would be to add to our reservation. Of course, before I go to the restaurants and beg and plead, I would like a slightly stronger idea as to our actual numbers. Accordingly, if your status has changed, please post to the thread. Thanks.

Vidalia is unable to expand our reservation, so it will be for 6 people at 6:45 pm on Monday. The confirmed attendees are:
