Hearing no objection, our next DC Happy Hour will be on Friday, October 1, 2010, at Harry's Tap Room, 2800 Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22201.

Happy Hour at the bar will begin around 6:15 pm, with dinner to follow at 7:15 pm. I'll call early next week to make a dinner reservation after I get a decent idea of our numbers.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.

Care to summarize how these two places went (Arcadiana and Morrison House)?

I can't speak to Morrison House, but I think we did well at Acadiana. They seated people as they arrived, instead of making us wait for everybody to get there. There were about a half dozen appetizer choices and three dessert choices, with the entree anything off their regular menu (a couple of items had up charges, but not many). Everything I had - the gumbo to start, red snapper (with snow peas and spoon bread) for the main course, bread pudding for dessert - was good. My only disappointment was in the cocktail menu, as their dark and stormy was sweeter and less gingery than I would prefer.

I just made a reservation for a party of 12. 7:00 pm was unavailable, but 7:15 pm was available. Ergo, dinner will be at 7:15 pm instead of 7:00 pm. Hope this isn't too much of a problem.

Arriving Friday morning Oct 29, sleeping near Dulles for one night. Saturday and Sunday nights at Marriott Washington [near DuPont].

I am around that weekend. I am reasonably sure I am free on Friday night so would be willing to organize a dinner get-together then, most likely in Virginia. (Either along the Orange Line corrider or points west.)

I have an evening commitment on Saturday but could do a late lunch if the rallies end at a sane or not too fearful time.
