promo 5x TYP on restaurants, gas, grocery, drug, mass transit
Today I got an email from Citi for my AT&T Universal Card (which has no ongoing bonus categories) to "register with 1 click" for a promo which gives 5 TYP (instead of just 1) on restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, drugstores, and mass transit & commuter transportation vendors, "now through 09/30/2018". It's capped at 2500 points (not clear if that's 2500 bonus points or 2500 total points).
Has anyone recently seen such a promo on other Citi TYP cards, and if so which one(s)?
Thanks.

Anyhow, I got the mass transit, restaurant, drug store offer on Preferred card.
Only noticed it because I happened to be looking at the Preferred account online -- which is strange in and of itself (talk about a sockdrawer card!) -- to convince myself that it has been >2 years since I downgraded to this card from Premier and ($!#$!%!) they changed the number on me. I'm looking at you soon, new Premier card!

Interesting.
I was interpreting the following:
as quite unambiguously saying that we will get 5x on this category spend, up until we have hit 2,500 points. Which means a total of $500 bonused spend.
Your experience comports with what they say in footnote 1 of the offer:
which says quite unambiguously that one can get an additional 4x on bonused spend up to 2,500 points, which means a total of $625 spend.
I prefer your interpretation.

This offer starts upon enrollment and will end on 09/30/2018. Bonus points awarded with this offer are subject to a maximum of 2,500 additional points.
I prefer your interpretation.

I get the impression that they don't target most people with back-to-back promos. I've tended to get these targeted promos less than once a year per card in the past (to the point that my card was cancelled for inactivity while I was waiting for another promo, and I had to ask Citi to re-open it).
Yes, there is word on someone getting Q4 promos:

but these are probably people who didn't get a Q3 promo (at least not on the same card).

I seem to recall getting these maybe once a year or so on an old AA card. they are usually kind of weak tea.
once we got one on that offered two Admirals Club passes for $500 in spend or something, and we registered, did the spend, but were never sent the passes.
we called in once over it, got nowhere, so stopped paying much attention to them aftewards.
maybe if its TYP or something they are easier to track / deliver on.

These promos are all targeted.

I've got another promo on Preferred - spend $200 anywhere, get 2000 points. The card was recently converted from Visa to MC.
