Same here- I'm also an existing member who did not request a replacement.

I can confirm the same; I have had the Prestige for a few years. After reading your message, I logged into app and it says it's "processing" my new card on the way (not yet shipped).

Friend got his card today. It looks exactly the same as the current plastic design, feels like CSR weight. The printing is nearly flat white font, nothing like CSR's raised printing. Name on front is crooked and too high, account info on back is also badly printed. The circle design on the front with the two men is blurry and looks poorly printed. The edges are black. The "world elite" font is the new font, misaligned with the old silver foil MasterCard logo. I know these are usually the first week express card kinks so will request mine next month. I do think the card would look so much better without the name printed on the front.

I called for a retention offer this week, and my account specialist mentioned that she could overnight me the new metal card, since my card is worn out. Apparently after the agent requests the package, there is a note in the system that indicates if it is a metal card (something about the card package being "heavy")

Just opened the package today -- design is pretty much the same as previously reported. The card itself definitely feels heavier than the plastic card, but IMO slightly less weight and rigidity than the CSR. The "coat of arms" seems to have lost the subtle 3D/hologram effect.

The printed-on white font seems like it may wear easily compared to the flush silver printing on the plastic card. And as Nick92 mentioned, mine seems to have that misalignment on the World Elite font as well. On the plus side, the weird glue lines from attaching the section with the name/card number to the rest of the card doesn't exist, looks like it's all one-piece now.

Overall, hopefully it'll be more durable which was one of the main complaints I had with my current card as I use it a lot and it wears quickly. Not sure I would consider this new card and the 4th Night Free changes a "major enhancement" though, considering the July 23 downgrades.

EDIT: Attaching some pics, sorry for the bad lighting...

Thanks for the pics. It's strange that the card is using the old Mastercard logo. It looks like your name is really high above the line compared to the plastic design.

I prefer the old card design, the 3D effect on the Citi emblem was unique. There is barely any metal in the new card so it's just as flimsy as the plastic version.

I will say that the initial batch of the updated Prestige cards had the misaligned font, logos and no 3D emblem. Maybe we can expect a similar update to the existing metal card? It would look much nicer with the 3D emblem and if they removed the name on the front.

How would I recognize a "3D" emblem on my plastic card? An earlier version had the transparent arc, but I don't notice any depth to the design of mine. My card is also not any thinner than cards from other issuers.

The initial revised plastic (chip on front) card was flat but a later version, I wanna say a few months after printed the emblem on the lower level of the plastic to give it depth. I think the plastic cards were printed with this opening and the emblem on the bottom layer of plastic.

I would say the emblem is simply printed on a different layer than the rest of the card. Think of the empty circle in the picture above as a clear plastic window, then the emblem is printed on the plastic layer underneath that. I hope that makes sense!

Yes that's my guess too. I just showed the top layer and that opening is just clear plastic but it's not printed on the plastic below but the next layer. That window doesn't have enough depth to it. For the metal, they would probably have to make top layer with circle clear window, a circle opening in the metal layer and print the emblem below it.

Called and asked if they'd go ahead and send me a metal card now. CSR said no.

Maybe I just don't like the weight, I have the CSR and AMEX PLTs in plastic. Going to request that I don't get a metal one for Prestige as well. Although who knows how much longer I'll keep it after my stay at the end of the month with a 4th night free.
