Don't let the metal fool you. The card is strictly good for people who religiously spend 4+ nights at a hotel throughout the year and nobody else.

For those who value quality customer service, lounge access, a more realistic sign up bonus that's more rewarding per dollar spent, and a more rewarding points system, they go with the Chase Sapphire Reseve.

That response is not even remotely relevant to what HawaiiO is asking.

I haven't received it yet but don't think it will be registered mail.

Haven't received it, though I don't really care if I ever do.

I guarantee it won't come by registered mail, though, and not sure why it would. I'd assume whatever method Citi uses already for the card (can't recall if it came via regular USPS or UPS/Fedex?).

Was this for a new application, or is it a replacement card that you requested?

Really funny how they are willing to pay steep price to ship the relatively heavy fancy box next day for new applicants (mine did when I applied 4 years ago), but when I needed a replacement they wanted to charge me $6 for 2 day shipping (FedEx).

Sometimes their customer service logic escapes me.

That's unfortunately SOP for large corporations and how they treat existing customers vs new ones.

Can you post a pic of front and back? I wonder if TPG really got the metal card, no pics other than a generic image of the front. Actually surprised he didn't do a video.

False alarm; Citi overnighted the welcome letter. This is evidently standard practice for them, but the logic escapes me. UPS has got to love it though.

You should be receiving a second package soon after, either within a day or two of the welcome letter. The package should contain your actual card plus all the other good stuff.

Data point:

I logged into my Citi mobile app this morning, and it said "A new card is on the way". It looks like Citi is working on shipping out the metal cards to existing card members.

p.s. I am an existing card member, and no, I didn't make a request for the new card.
