What about Schwab checking? Is it no FTF, reimburses foreign ATM fees, and give you at least $10 per month for doing nothing? Do they give you $700 or 50k TYP or 50k AA miles for opening accounts?
BTW, the new CitiGold is called Priority now.

Citi Priority (50k minimum to avoid $30/month fee) has brokerage fees that are twice as high as Schwab, but the fee structure is the same as Citi Gold.
There is no signup bonus for Citi Gold, and the days of 50,000 AA miles are probably gone forever. Right now there's a $400 bonus for the Citi Account Package and $600 for Citi Priority. To get those bonuses you need to maintain a minimum balance of $15,000 and $50,000 for 60 days... A disappointing sign up bonus compared to Chase and Bank of America who give out $300 bonuses on their most basic accounts just for receiving a direct deposit (real or fake), and don''t require you to hold a large balance for two months.
You get a lot from Schwab and don't have to maintain a 1%'er income to qualify for the waived fees Citi gives you on their higher tiered account(s)... Anyone with a middle class income can afford a Schwab checking account.

Schwab has no FTF's on their debit card, unlimited ATM reimbursements, as well as all of the waived fees Citi Gold has, plus the interest rate is 0.40%, when compared to 0.03%. The new Citi Gold isn't Priority... It's Citi Gold with a higher minimum balance requirement... $200,000, while Schwab has no minimum balance requirements.

If one doesn't have the income to support $50,000 in an account, the $30 x 12 = $360 doesn't make it worth it... Although I do see where people can downgrade to another checking account and keep the $350, but then at that point, the benefits of Priorities' waived fees are gone.

On another note - for those who are Citi Priority, Citi is now offering a 2% APY 13mo CD. Lovely rate for the $50k we keep on deposit with Citi.

Looks like they have lowered the requirements for this package to $30k monthly... not sure it's worth it these days with MM rates being so high and Citi savings rates being so low... but at least we can hold less.
