Is the Citibank Premier Pass Elite still competitive?

I have one of these cards and love it for the free companion airfare benefit. Are there other cards offering the same/similar benefit, or is this the only game in town for someone that doesn't actually fly a lot but appreciates using the benefit once a year (regardless of purchase activity or points accumulation)?

Does anyone know of any referral bonuses if I get my wife to sign up for one too? (We've got 2 kids now so doubling the benefit would be great.)

This card was eliminated in late 2010, see this thread:

(Exception is the Expedia co-banded version which is still called PremierPass.)

Most members reported their accounts were converted to the new product. Discussion of the Premier card's companion feature is in this thread:

I signed up for the Premier card a couple of months ago. At that time sign up bonus was 50,000 TYP's with $2500 spend over 3 months and 1st year fee waived. I'll be keeping the card and using the annual free companion coupon. I know I'll have to pay taxes on companion ticket, but I will still save hundreds of dollars and get FF points from the airline ticket used. The annual fee is small compared to the savings. Use the threads that mia supplied in above post to learn more about them.
