[Targeted] CITI ThankYou Premier 100K pts

I am not seeing this anywhere, in fact the 50K offer is being pushed on the blogs, but I just received a targeted 100,000 Thank You point offer from CITI; $5,000 spend in three months, $125 annual fee waived, yearly companion fare, etc.

I've never been all that into the Thank You Point deal, but this is looking good.

I know you said it was targeted but was there a link that we might use?

This is a great offer if you were targeted. I just applied for the 50k points after $2500 spend with no annual fee and though that was amazing. 100k? No brainer. I'd jump on this if you get it.

TY points are a great compliment to miles, to use for short-haul flights.

Yes, it is for the Citi Thank You Premier card. You go to:

And that would be the definition of 'Targeted' I believe.

Does anyone know if you can still earn Citi flight points on rewards tickets booked using airline miles where the taxes/fees are paid for using the Citi card?

It's worth between $1,000 and $1,300. I'd say it's a good deal ;-)

I've been considering the 50K offer, but maybe I will sit tight and watch for the mailman.

Yes, but your credit card needs to post a single charge of at least $50.00 with each award ticket. That effectively means domestic award tickets don't earn TY Flight points.

Wow, that is still great though. It makes the BA award surcharges more palatable for instance.

Last question, the 50k or 100k bonus TY points count as "spend points" correct? I saw that was true previously and I hope that holds true.

If true, that means this 100k offer combined with some fee payments on the card can become 200k with some work.

EDIT: Thinking about it more, to me it seems the Citi card is a really great compliment to the other premier cards (Amex Membership Rewards cards or Chase Ultimate Rewards cards). The redemptions for Citi are great for economy/short haul flights, whereas mileage earning cards are great for forward cabin long-distance class. Plus this card is great for using for taxes/fees on those international flights. You could even come out net positive after booking a rewards flight. Nothing like being paid to fly!

Does Citi bump signup bonuses if you got a 50k signup bonus and then you got the targeted offer?

I saw someone post a comment recently with an excerpt from TYP credit card's T&C that they may issue a 1099 MISC for the value of the points earned. Courtesy of CITI (similar to their AA miles bank accounts).

Lame if true and kills the point of the points. Can anyone confirm?
