Award availability

Looking to book a LHR hotel during christmas. tried online and it says it can be done only 60 days before. I don't have much experience with hotel bookings, so just wondering if awards outside the US are easy.

If you want to be sure you will get a room, search availability and even book these rooms with your credit card.
You can make reservations using any rate. When the award option is up, "change" the paid room (cancel it) by "award" booking.

Do not forget to cancel the paid rooms if you do not want to be charged.

Have you tried this method?

It will work unless the hotel ends up overbooked.

Choice has very good award availability, but if the hotel is sold out, it's sold out.

Yes. I booked multiple rooms in the same city to minimize the risks.

I also booked multiple rooms with awards, until I made my final decision where to stay.
