a snack? a beer? a little wine split? some in-room amenity for people who stay 50 nights a year...does that not occur to anyone in the budget category? surely a budget traveler would appreciate a snack being left in the room or something like that.
that's all i would have expected to see.

Although this has been mentioned in similar threads, I don't see a mention of it in this thread. Simple way to get status: get the no fee, Choice card from Barclays. Current offer is 32000 CP points, albeit in an odd way compared with most hotel cards--https://www.barclaycardus.com/apply/...6&cellNumber=8. Booking window jumps from 30 to 50 nights immediately.
And, you get all the other benefits of being a Gold member!

re: Barclay's credit card....As detailed here, I had a crazy hard time getting those 32,000 points awarded and posted to my Choice account. Almost 5 months before it was finally done, plus tons of calls, emails, and aggravation. I was already gold so no big deal, I wanted the points.
