Comfort Inn Manhattan no longer with Choice Hotels

Just got an email regarding my reservation at the Comfort Inn Manhattan, NY, NY saying that they are no longer affiliated with the Choice brand and that my reservation in November(which was a free night via BRG) may not be honored. after various calls back and forth, they will not honor any BRGs thru Choice. FYI.
