Everything-washed bedding

Once upon a time all hotels had bedspreads and blankets that were washed once or twice a year. They were gross beyond belief. I would sometimes travel with my own comforter so I could strip the bed before using it. Or if traveling by air I would bring an extra sheet that I could layer over the filthy bedspread and/or blanket (the bedspread would generally be needed for warmth and weight, so I couldn't just remove it).

I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but Hilton, then Marriott, then Holiday Inn started at some point to use everything-washed bedding, consisting of a duvet placed in a freshly washed cover. I love this, as I don't sleep well with filthy, unwashed bedclothes.

Anyway, the last Choice hotel I stayed in had everything-washed bedding. I was very pleased. Fear of unwashed bedspreads and blankets are the biggest sticking point with my staying more often at Choice hotels. Is Choice joining Hilton, Marriott, and others in mandating clean bedding, or is this just a luck of the draw type thing?
