As long as you have at least a one night gap, then each stay is counted separately.

You do have to use choicehotels.com to book to get this 8000/free night stay promo correct? You can't just walk in the hotel to get it? TY

If it's a qualifying stay, it counts. Your best bet is the online booking because some in-hotel rates aren't qualifying.
http://www.choicehotels.com/springpromotion
The free night is based on an 8,000 point Choice Privileges reward night level. Bonus points will be added to points earned from every two qualifying stays at eligible rates at any hotel included in the Choice Privileges program with arrival between Feb. 22 and April 30, 2010, to reach the 8,000 point reward level. Choice Privileges number must be provided upon check-in for the stay to be eligible. A stay is defined as any number of consecutive nights at one hotel regardless of check-ins or check-outs. Allow 72 hours from check-out for points to post to your account. You must maintain an address in the U.S. (including U.S. territories), Canada, Mexico or eligible countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe to be eligible for this promotion. For program details, eligible rates, eligible countries and point redemption rules, visit choiceprivileges.com.
http://www.choicehotels.com/en/choic...ns#earn_points
You earn Choice Privileges points or Airline Rewards or Amtrak Guest Rewards points for individual travel on the following qualifying rate plans (SRPs). They are: Best Available Rate (BAR), Pre-paid Advance Purchase Rate (LADV), Corporate (SCR, CORP, LCORP), VIP (SPC), Net Preferred (SNP), Government/Military (SGM, GOVT), Travelers' Discount (STD), AAA/CAA (S3A, AAA, LAAA), PSCIEN, Package Rates (PPKFLY, PTKTS, PGOLF, PCLBR8, PCPPTS), Small Organization Savings/Significant Savings (SSO), Senior Rate (SSC), Sports Rate (LSPRT), CPSA (LR7), negotiated rates (N), and select LSRPs (LAKES, LBEST, LCLUB, LDEAL, LFPLP, LFPLPX, LFSSR, LGOC, LGWAYS, LHOME, LNINE, LGDS, LPCT, LSTATE, LTFT, LGO, L5, L10, L15, L20 and L59). The following rates are available in Europe and the Middle East only: LEARLI (Europe only), LSOIR1 (France, Spain, Portugal and Belgium only), P2BB1D, P3BB2D, PFRANC (France, Spain, Portugal and Belgium only), PSTDB (Ireland only), PSTDC (Ireland only), SWK (France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, and Switzerland only), LSUN (Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland and the United Kingdom only) and LSNOW (Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland and the United Kingdom only). The following rate is available in Australasia only (including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Fiji): Local Pre-paid Early Booking Rate (LEARLA). The following rate is available in the Caribbean only: LGOLD. Also, all other rates that are 20% or less off Best Available Rate; except LNET, LNET2, LNET3, LEXP, LEXP2, LOPQ, LWPARK, tour series and group rates are point eligible.

And for those wondering if you really get it, the bonus has posted for me.

I was hotel-hopping for 12 days in Orlando recently for a free Hilton night (stay-4-get-1), the 20K BMI bonus from Wyndham (5K per, limit 4), and a couple Choice nights:

04/01/2010 1 Rodeway Inn Maingate FL691 KISSIMMEE, FL 7,867 View folio
Includes Bonus: 1 + 1 = Free

03/27/2010 1 Rodeway Inn Maingate FL691 KISSIMMEE, FL 165 View folio
Includes Bonus: Gold Point Bonus

registration needed?

Dumb question here: to be eligible for the stay 2 get 8,000 points promo, do we have to register? I read the T&C and didn't find any mention of registration. Thanks!

No registration needed. Just be sure you either book the stay online or via 800-4CHOICE.
