To get from the Hilton to CEIBS is pretty simple. It's in Puxi though, very central, so travel time is a little longer than staying in Pudong. Catch the subway by the Hilton (5 minute walk to Jing'an stop, Line 2) and take it heading east getting off at Science & Tech museum in Pudong (about 25 minutes). Then catch a cab to CEIBS (10 minutes, 16 RMB).
By cab, travel time really depends. Rush hour it can take 1-2 hours. Other times it can be done in 30-40 mins. Avoid the tunnels and Nanpu bridge during rush hour. Gonna cost you around 50 rmb during the day, more at night.
If you're in town for a couple days and need to get to CEIBS during those days but want to see some of Shanghai, stay in town and just commute back and forth. If you're here for longer, stay nearby in Pudong.

CEIBS is a bit of a pain to get to/from. You pretty much have to use cabs, or bike it there if you're close. The main problem w/ cabs is that the main entrance is at the dead end of a street, so it can be hard to find a cab when you want to leave as not many will drive down to the dead end unless they're dropping off.
