Ctrip is much better. Flight fare is up to date.
With Elong it happened a couple of times that a booked flight suddenly became unavailable and the agents called and tried to talk me into a higher-priced fare. This never happened with Ctrip.

Better book now...only 8 seats left on flight. Sorry no discount available.
What's your credit card?

It happens (quite often) with Ctrip. The first time it happenned to me, I thought "scam!", but after I heard their explanation (i.e. not real time) and learned that their peers were no better, I went with the flow. But, I agree that ctrip is better than elong. I can't really explain why, but they just seem to be better organized and have more pull with the airlines. Plus, when things go awry (VERY often), I call them and *sometimes* they make magic happen.
