Transit Visa in China ?

I am flying LAX to MEL (Australia) on China Southern - I make a connection with change of plane in Guangzhou (CAN)....and the same while coming back

I have a lay-over of 12 hours in Guangzhou, china

I am NOT planning to leave the airport

Do I need a (transit) visa or any other document ?

If you don't leave the transit area at CAN, no visa is required IIRC.

IIRC, CAN doesn't offer airside transfers, but I think you're right about the visa (non) requirement.
