and, while i'm sure most mainlanders would be happy that you referred to [taiwan] as china, taiwanese might take offense.
in any case, you don't need a visa of any kind to visit taiwan for (21 days?) so transit is no problem.
had your post been about transiting in the prc, my answer would be a little more complex because tmk shanghai, haikou, and sanya are the only three places you can pull it off (and the odds of any fters transiting in the latter 2 cities are pretty damn low for the foreseeable future).
btw, i hope the above doesn't seem snide. i was merely attempting to help clear up some of the confusion that was imbedded in your post in addition to answering your question. happy travels!
