11h connection PEK
Hello everyone,
I have been reading most of the posts regarding long connections at PEK. Hopefully, we will have around 9 full hours there ( day time).
My understanding is that foreign cards aren’t accepted ( taxis, tube, some restaurants…) and Alipay seems to be the app to use to pay.
My question is… is it worth getting Alipay just for 9h in Beijing? Ideally, we want to go to the Forbidden City plus a restaurant, or the Great Wall.
Cheers everyone

I'd probably get Alipay and or wx pay up and running for that, assuming you can do it without exerting much effort (i.e < 5 minutes), but most venues really do accept cash, and ATMs are ubiquitous. You can also add foreign credit cards directly to the more popular ride sharing apps. 9 hours isn't enough time to pull off both downtown and the Great Wall, so pick your poison on that front.
