6 hours transit at Changsha

Hello,

I will be transiting in Changsha for 6 hours. I will arrive internationally on China Southern from Frankfurt and transfer to a domestic flight with China Southern to Shenzhen 6 hours later. All on one ticket.

The transit is during the daytime (not overnight). I know on that China Southern is providing Hotels on longer layover, and I believe if the Transit would have been in Guangzhou I would qualify, but Changsha does not seem to used regularly as a hub, actually I can not even find Information about Transit in Changsha on CZ's Website, while there is Information for CAN, Wuhan, Urumqi and so...

Anway, some questions remain:

LOUNGE:
I have Elite+ Membership, and I initially just thought I would pass Immigration, do the paperwork etc and spend the remaining time in the Lounge. That said, I can imagine the domestic Lounge in Changsha is not a nice place to stay longer, does anyone has used it and can give recommendations?

AIRPORT HOTEL:
Another Option would be to ask at Arrival if the Airline Provides a Hotel, and if not just take a own one for a use of 4 hours or so. I understand Hotels are not terribly expensive there, so I am willing to pay, that said I am unwilling to spend 2 hours in a taxi just to reach a Hotel i am going to stay 1 hour in, so the question is: Is there any Airport Hotel in Changsha, ideally on site or a short drive away, that is recommandable? The Internet is very misleading, there seems that there used ot be one at the old terminal which is closed, but that's all I could find nearby. Ctrip also offers Hotels, but they're pretty far away from the Airport, too.

Any help from travellers that have been there is appreciated.

There are many flights between Changsha and Shenzhen, so I assume you should be able to switch to one that does not entail a 6 hour layover.

But, if your schedule is set in stone, I recommend visiting Changsha itself (excellent dining options).

Interestingly there is only one CZ flight that day...
Going into town may be an option indeed. Nicer than staying at the airport for sure... We arrive around 0700 and leave at 1300 so timings are not extremely ideal for dining, and actually maybe even a bit short to go into town, but aparently there is Maglev train now from the airport to the train station.

Well you can certainly go for some Changsha spicy noodles and stinky tofu for breakfast then head on over and see the statue of Chairman Mao.
