Transit visa in SZX?

As CA is flying nonstop from FRA to SZX right now, a friend of mine booked a flight FRA - SZX - BKK with a stopover in SZX of 18 hours.

So he is eligible for the 24h transit without applying for a G Visa (my opinion).

But he´s got a notice from CA now to let him know that the 24h transit isn´t available at SZX atm (like in Fuzhou and Yanji) and he has to apply for a transit visa.

Never heard about that.
I also found the same information at the CA website (just in german).

Anybody was in transit in Shenzhen the last time and had any problems or heard about it?

I forwarded you szx's Wechat account, and suggest you message them (in Chinese) with your query. CA seems confused on this point.

You can also just post your question on this webpage of SZ Immigration:

http://www.szbj.gov.cn/consult.jsp?

Note they said a couple of weeks ago that SZ has not yet implemented the 72-hour TWOV, though there were reports in January that this would happen the first half of 2016.
