Difference Airline Connection in PVG

Hi all, I am taking American to PVG, but I am on China Eastern out of PVG later that day.

I've had notorious problems getting foreign airlines to allow me to check-in online, and I'm wondering what kind of grief I am going to get, first of all, leaving LAX, and then getting to China Eastern Desk in PVG to get my next checkin, since I will not have a China Visa for that trip, connecting there.

Any advice or experience in such matters?

Are you taking an international flight out of China? If so then no worries, you can transit visa-free for up to 144 hours.
You probably won't be able to check-in online for the China Eastern flight.

Yes, I am direct from PVG to PNH. Will my Ticket, electronic, since I may not be able to get boarding pass or checked in, suffice for their needs to allow me transit I guess is my real question?

It is common for immigration officers at PVG to ask for your onwards ticket - so printing it out is good advice.

Note that ticket means your receipt (often sent by email) with the ticket number. It's also a good idea to have a hard copy of your reservation/PNR.
