7 hour layover- PVG

Just booked an award ticket from ICN to BKK via PVG. Flying Asiana from ICN to PVG, then Thai Air from there to BKK.

Question 1: At PVG, will I have to collect bags, then check them in again like we do here in the USA? Or will they go through? I've read conflicting info.

Question 2: From what I've gathered in my limited research tonight, going from PVG to the Bund and back to PVG w/in 7 hours is do-able. Would you in the FT world agree with that? Or disagree?

2. Yes, there's enough time unless your inbound flight is very very late. You do not want to spend seven hours at PVG.

Eminently doable...I recently reported on a thread about a "sort of layover" at PVG when I wandered into town and had brunch.

If you keep checking back, you might be able to score a nonstop.

We seem to have a bunch of these PVG stopover threads with varying lengths of time... 7 hours is enough to go to some interesting places.

Thanks for the tip. The flight is right before Christmas though, so don't think the odds are in my favor. Never say never though right?
