That leaves us with 8 nights to split between Shanghai and Hangzhou. What would you recommend? 3 nights Shanghai and 5 Hangzhou or 4-4? Where will we have more to see and do? An idea of your top recommendations for what to see and do, would also be appreciated as well as - of course - your favourite restaurants in these cities.
For restaurants in Shanghai there's the following thread which you might find useful:

If you want to focus only on Shanghai and Hangzhou for the 8 days, I think 2-3 days in Hangzhou may be quite OK, with the rest spent in Shanghai. Shanghai is quite large so you can spend time exploring its different districts, leisurely checking the sights in each area. It also gives you the option of a day trip to Suzhou and/or Zhouzhuang should you feel like you want to see a place not on your original plan.

I suggested 2-3 days in HK. I proposed a list of highlights, including Shenzen. I was asked how long in Shenzen? I said one day.
What part of that don't you grasp??
ps Next time, I suggest you read the thread 1st. 16 posts, its really not that difficult!
