Pacific Coffee in China
Hello
I have been to a number of outlets from this chain in Hong Kong and Singapore over the past decade. Apparently it was recently taken over by a large food+beverage conglomerate from China, and they have been rolling out a lot of new branches around the mainland.
Today we were having some tea (quite nice mix of pu-er with chrysanthemum) in a new outlet at the stylish Starlight shopping mall across from Le Meridien in Chongqing.
The staff was smiling and friendly, and all seats were comfortable sofa-chairs. Internet was free, and the price for a large mug at RMB 19 (=USD 3.00) was quite reasonable compared with Starbucks (which also tend to be less spacious).
We were further pleasantly surprised when the staff walked around every 20 minutes or so with a pitcher of boiling water to replenish everyone's cup.
That is a great touch for a casual cafe.
