Inner Mongolia ?'s
I have a 4 day group trip to Inner Mongolia the first week of July. Two days in Hohhot, 1 day in Ordus, & 1 day in Baotou. In Hohhot they have us at the Zhigongzhijia hotel, which i can not find on C-trip.... ??
Any insight or comments on this Hohhot hotel, or sights to see after the last day in Baotou ?. BTW, the last day i am in Baotou at the Shangri-la, so a comfortable base hotel to look for weekend tours in this province.

So, N,S,E,W ?. I am with an energy investment group of about 20 guys, mainly the BJ/SH money worship types. Or as they call it here, a market economy entranpaneur. And in Erdos, (Ordus), staying at the air china hotel called 'Tieniu' . Maybe the Tieniu locals there will know about the 'ghost city'

trip notes
Just back from this 4 day trip to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous region. All the buildings & signs had a 3rd signage, local mongol characters. Also major rail construction is ongoing for freight & people.
Huhhot the capital city is about 10 years behind BJ & SH. Its the 2nd largest city in IM & they do want industry & overseas investment. The shangri-la is abet dated, but near the center of the city which is really spread out.
The best hotel is the Xin Cheng in Huhhot.
Ordus, its all about coal & energy here, & then coal... The heavy industry that has some new retooling, very bumby roads due to hundreds of large trucks in this area. This city is about 20 years behind SH & BJ. Not a place to live, as its 2-3 times more expensive than Huhhot and Baotou, and they truly need skilled workers in Ordus. The ghost city is still there, interesting to see, but not many people due to the high real estate prices.... ( set by local external government committee !) If you invest here, you "might" be able to get a china green card from the local people's government of Ordus !.
Baotou, The largest city in IM & really nice friendly people. Some local dialect issues, but really great local food & lamb. They have a grassland park, surrounded by city with mountains in the background. Heavy metal & aluminum industry area, but also an economic hi-tech development area that leverages on the rare earth products.
The Baotou tourism board is promoting the city & the green grassland parks & the clean blue sky. Some modern shopping here that is not available in Ordus. This Baotou city/area will grow & it's attracting the best china type investors.
Baotou & Huhhot both have city liaison offices in BJ, but they really like to drink the local liquor !.

The average waiting time to get a Land Rover in China is 10 months to a year.
China will be Land Rover's second largest market by the end of the year
and will be their number 1 market next year.
Rolls Royce sales surged 800% in China last year.
China has overtaken the UK to be Roll's second-biggest
market and should be their number 1 market soon.
The Chinese are buying Rolls-Royces at such a rate it has cut the average age of customers globally from 60-plus, to people in their late 40s.
It's self made entrepreneurs 30 to 35, owning two Rolls-Royces plus a number of other cars.

Would a Ferrari do well in the ghost city (setting aside the fact at no one would see it, which is half the point in owning one)?

North American market owners, the largest segment of RR sales,
are dumping their box shaped Phantoms and going for the
extended wheel base Ghost models. They really like the
"Night Vision" option as their counsel advised that is a good
option to mitigate DUIs.

The thing is a beast, for a cost of 1 Million USD in China it
better eat up speed bumps.
