Mini-TSA U.V. Flashlight

I want one of these . . . I think it would be fun to look @ other holographic items using this little palm-sized flashlight. Does anyone here have one? If so, where did you purchase it?

And when the TSA agent is shining their light on your DL, you can be shining yours on their ID to check it is genuine

You could also set up a pre-screening station and flash the light on the IDs and BPs or your traveling party.

I'd love to see Improv Everywhere at the airport.

A more pertinent question may be..... where can you get a magic marker with invisible ink that only shows up glowing brightly under UV light..... Because I'm sure there must be such a thing...... I'll leave the rest up to your imaginations........

Wouldn't such an action be considered a "modification" of the ID, rendering it useless for TSA purposes? I'd consider showing my ID again it I started doing this, but still would probably go through with no ID instead.

You're right, writing on ID is not a good idea.

The Screening Experience provides you with another document whose obvious purpose is to be a Multi Agency Graffiti Pad: Your Boarding Pass. Airline agents and TSA screeners are always writing, circling, highlighting and marking all over BPs. (How much does TSA spend every year on highlighters? Do they have Highlighter Training Class with Official Procedures: "Here is when you underline, here is when you circle, and for Special occasions you squiggle.")

It's not your fault if BPs seem to come preprinted from the factory with Invisible UV Ink writings. How are you supposed to know why your DL BP says "KHIAI" along the edge? You can't see it, it's INVISIBLE.

CSI for Hotels

Could you also use the UV light to see how dirty your hotel room is? Or have I seen CSI to often?

Lots of things fluoresce. You could find teeth or bones, various minerals, cleaning product smears, petroleum based cosmetic smears, some diamonds and other gems, soaps, secret memos, enough to keep you and the "lab" busy for days. Happy hunting...

Oh, you may want to invest in a UV source that emits short wave UV as well as long wave UV. Some items only fluoresce under one or the other, or emit a different visible spectrum color under each. Thats what I remember from my science fair project...

You'd have a field day at the Days Inn, Alcoa Tennesse. That place is rife with unknown stains that flouresce.

100% correct. I have the Inova 395nm UV LED light.

FT Luggage tags light up a spectacular yellow. CA drivers licenses respond weakly and incompletely. Security threads in many foreign currencies are quite bright.

YMMV depending on what you are looking for.

Something like this may cover all bets at a reasonable price.

That's been done before, sort of. The passenger had a small flashlight that looked like the one that TSA uses but his was a regular white light. It was funny for sure.
