This whole thing reminds me of another FT'ers post awhile back about getting thru immigration in Oz:

Immigration: Do you have a criminal history?
FT'er: Is it still required?
Immigration: *stamps passport and laughs* Welcome to Australia.

With that of a girl in the next dorm, the response may not flow as quaickl. Also woks when the last name on the ID is Jones, and you reply with a heavy Spanish accent.

They shouldn't be asking for ID at all, let alone harassing people who have ID.
