Pekoske tapped to be 2nd in command at DHS
Homeland Security acting Secretary Kevin McAleenan on Thursday announced Transportation Security Administration Administrator David Pekoske has been promoted to deputy secretary of the department, serving as his right-hand man over 240,000 employees....
TSA acting Deputy Administrator Patricia Cogswell will oversee the agency until a permanent chief is named.

Likewise, Pekoske will continue to head the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, which screens airline travelers, while he serves as the No. 2 official at DHS. Both men are serving on a temporary basis.
