New type of scanner being trialled in Cardiff

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-46439329

A new scanner is being trialed at Cardiff Airport which uses a system developed to study the outer reaches of the galaxy.

It can pick up the glow of a light bulb 500,000 miles away.

The new scanner sees a passenger's body lit up to take an image as they walk through it.
If it works as described it potentially could make security much less painful

Not invented by the American Security Industry that is staffed with former DHS/TSA senior employees who line their pockets after creating a need for particular technology. Probably a none starter.
