Medical liquids procedures

I'm used to TSA waving their strips but I got a different result this time:

Strips, as expected. Patch on a stick swiped around in the bag and sent to the machine. Grope.

I seem to have drawn a trainee, though. He was repeatedly asking others for guidance.

I was asked how long the journey was--before he knew what I was carrying. The fact that it was a TPAC flight placated him, though.

I didn't think they weren't supposed to put new people on the checkpoints until they've been to the academy. There were videos of them getting trained on an actual training checkpoint at the academy. IIRC, that was why SEA was granted an exemption to continue training people they'd already hired but couldn't put to work at the checkpoints where they were needed the most during the slowdown. OP's experience could indicate that FSD's can now limit the amt. of medical liquids one can take on board, as had ben suggested a while ago.

The thing with asking how long my journey was is that without knowing what I was carrying (technically they could have known as there was a bunch more unmixed in the bag but it's rare enough that many doctors wouldn't recognize it, no TSA guy is going to know what it is at a glance unless they have previous experience with it) is that how can you figure a consumption rate?

I guess you are experiencing the same thing with medical liquids.

I almost get a different inspection of electronic equipment every time I go thru. A very large bag with 12 hand held "calculators" 20 large ni-cad batteries (no wires) 8 of which in a battery charger.
Always pulled for secondary inspection but sometimes they just wipe the bag inside and out. Sometimes they to that and pull one to three machines out to wipe and sometimes they empty the entire bag and wipe everything, even pull the divider that holds the machines and wipe in the bag.
We then get to the individual attention paid to each machine from just a quick wipe to rubbing the thing from top to bottom.

You can plainly see there is no standard or set procedure even in the same terminal.

We also bring thru laser printers and the same different levels of inspection are experienced. Thank goodness the UPS scare with laser printers is over, we used to send the printer without toner to the terminal 3 days in advance and could only bring in brand new toner in sealed boxes when that scare happened.

And TSA is familiar that we are not traveling. We sometimes bring in over 100 people (T4 JFK to do Hudson News inventories) and they make a special line just for us. Yes we need one escort for every 5 people, a fun logistical nightmare for another topic.

From @TSA

-@TSA: 'Ma'am you'll need to dump that water bottle'
-Woman: 'but I need it for my medical condition'
-@TSA: 'wut's that?'
-'Dehydration'

Perfect!
