Overhead off-limits during potty breaks?
I ran across this one a while ago. Flight attendant "guarding" the cockpit was apoplectic about a passenger getting something out of his bag over head. It was on Alaska if that makes a difference.

Not surprised, Delta went into full-on lockdown mode on a flight in 2014 I was on, MSP-MSO. Both attendants guarding the flight deck, an announcement beforehand that no one was to get up from their seat, etc.
All it did was give a group waiting to storm the cockpit enough notice to improves the odds they'd succeed.

This could have been at roughly the same time as your experience, so perhaps there was a bulletin or alert put out regarding a "possible incident in the near future" that just sort of faded away (self-expired)? I do not recall that they had warned us of this in advance during the initial announcements, more that that guy " just should have known" (telepathy and all that).

Huh? I'm pretty certain that any group of terrorists planning on storming the cockpit would probably be watching the door the entire time. An announcement (or lack thereof) would have no impact on success.
