JFK fiasco

On Saturday night I was returning to my home in SLC from Rome via JFK. Sadly I was marked as a 'SSSS' passenger despite my Pre-Check status and had the most humiliating experience I've ever had with TSA. I was literally groped by two different women, one in front of everyone (no offer to do so privately) and one behind closed locked doors. I was aggressively touched by women in ways I wouldn't let anyone touch me. It was shocking. Caused me to miss a fight and everything.

I sent an email complaint to TSA, I don't expect and answer from them. Any other recourse?

Sorry to hear of those experiences.

1. Get a lawyer
2. File a lawsuit
3. ????
4. Profit.

Jack booted thugs

Sad thing is that I already have had my annual mammogram so that part was a waste of time.

Why two gropes and why didn't you refuse the second one - or at least refuse to go into a private room for that one?

File a complaint using this form. Keep a copy of your narrative!!!!

This will all have been digitally recorded on video. Get your complaint into TSA using the webform ASAP and ask that the recording be preserved. Give them the time you went through the checkpoint and describe the location in the checkpoint and what you were wearing.

You can follow up with everything else later, but once the recording is gone, it's gone.

Great question I was so stunned and tired after a long flight back from Rome it didn't come to me. I already filed the complaint on the TSA site, but will do so on the new one as well.

Not the back room, behind closed and locked doors grope!

Thank you I will do so. I did complain to my Congressman Jason Chaffetz who is a big TSA complainer. I spoke with the Oversight Committee staff as well.

Filing a complaint on the TSA website is an exercise in futility as complaints are farmed out to a third party

When you file the OIG form, make certain to advise of those steps.

A second grope behind closed doors usually means they had an alarm on the first one.

It all felt very 'profiley' to me. Nothing came up I was cleared and flew out without incident the next morning. But still totally angry about it.

Do you know what, if anything, triggered the second grope? Did the ETD alarm?

Honestly no idea. My first time EVER with it. It was a busy airport, and as an over 40 year old, white, blonde, green eyed woman I was probably more flustered and confused than anything so I may have missed something. The lady who did treated me like I was a you-know-what. Unbelievably rude and brusque. The second lady was a bit better. I was not asked if I wanted to move to a more private screening so it was visible to God and man at Terminal 4 at JFK. The second one was behind closed doors as I said, but all of my personal effects were taken away from me, including passport and ticket. My Mom and sister who were traveling with me insisted on being in the room.

At the end no explanation.....no apology.
