Bringing caviar through security

Has anyone had the experience of bringing jars of caviar through security?

Would the jars be considered to be a liquid or gel and I would have to put it together with my toiletries?

Last think I want would be for TSA to confiscate my expensive beluga caviar.

Where are you coming from? I've brought spicy Japanese salmon roe in sealed jars in a freezer bag. JAPANESE customs just let it through when I told them what it was. I imagine caviar would be the same. Of course, you might not want to tell the incoming customs about it because they might take it away.

I have had cans of sardines not allowed because they contained oil and were over 3oz.
