Online Check-in Question

Hi,

I hope this is the right forum for this.

I'm flying to London on Airchina. I then have a separate flight on Finnair.

If I use online check-in for FinnAir, do I still have to go through immigration or can I just transfer to my next flight? I'm bringing just a carry-on bag.

Thanks!

Mike

As long as you're staying within the same airport, you won't need to go through immigration.

But if you're arriving at (for example) LHR on Air China and leaving from LGW on Finnair, you'll need to clear immigration, because you're entering the country to get from one airport to another.

Also, you'll need to go through a security checkpoint in either case.

Note that the immigration issues are the same whether you check-in online or not. (If the Air China and Finnair flights are on separate reservations, there are other reasons you'd want to OLCI for the Finnair flight before starting your trip, of course.)
