How many checkpoints at Frankfurt
I'm flying Frankfurt-Newark on Continental later this month. Since I'll be originating in Frankfurt, I'm wondering how many checkpoints I'll go through. It used to be two (one regular, one just for US flights), but I recall discussion of eliminating the second checkpoint.
Similarly, I'm curious to know how vigilant or difficult the secondary screening is. I just flew on Continental from CDG to Newark this week, and it was a breeze. I'm hoping that Frankfurt will be similar.
Thanks.

Just one, although there is a separate line to clear passport control into the non-Schengen terminal areas. In any case, lines move rapidly at FRA.
You will, however, have to endure questioning by a security 'contractor' before checking in at the counter, something you'd avoid by flying Lufthansa.

I don't actually run into problems with the I-SEC (formerly ICTS) interrogators. I usually fly out of Paris or Geneva, and they've only had four or five questions at the most.
Glad to hear that it's just one checkpoint and the (sometimes avoidable) risk of secondary at the gate.
