Unless I misread a recent letter from Chase, they have extended my float (/grace period) for my MP VISA Platinum card by five days ^^
They state my payment due date has been changed to give me more time to pay, 5 additional days to make the payment. It had been 20 days and now will be 25? days. We settle our bill in full each month and carry no credit.
At first thought this was because I was such a great person
but guess this is a move to met some regulation or uniformity across their products.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Has anyone else received a singular notification?
A few year back (2003) FirstUSA shorten the float (from 25 to 20 days) there was a FT discussion,
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...d-mp-visa.html , decided not to post in that thread since it was so old and Chase is now handling the accounts.

You must live well/right/good
I too pay down my bill monthly, but have long grumped about the alleged "20" days--which has always seemed far more like 15-16. And, as usual, my bill arrived this month on about that schedule, so ----no love for me from Chase!

I got the same notice for my Amazon Visa card from Chase as the OP. However, I remember that my grace period for the Amazon card was shortened by about 5 days earlier this year (and it was unannounced until I saw the due date moved up five days on one of my statements).

This means they are just going back to what they were up to last fall. My float (on both UA chase cards I have) was pulled back by 5 days without notice.

I think it's part of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) -- the new laws that were passed.
They have to send out your bill no later than 21 days before it's due. No more of this 20 days from when the statement is cut, but it takes a couple days to print and mail, so there's really not that much time left.
Of course Chase is doing it now before it kicks in and making it sound like they're being nice.

Got the 5 extra days notice as well. Of course, my initial thought when I saw a change to my agreement was that I thought my interest rate was going to be "enhanced" again.
