CO chase MC Enhanced
Currently have the Chase CO Plat MC. Received letter today telling me I has been upgraded (enhanced) to the CO World MC which includes 2 President's club passes and 2 $99 companion certs. good on CO domestic flights of $298 or more. If I want to opt out, I have to call them and tell them. Oh yeah, my upgrade (enhancement will only cost an additional $20 a year. The cert. seem worthless and the passes could be beneficial, however I fly mostly AA. I have the card because I have some 70K ophaned onepass miles and wanted to build up to a reward of 2 domestic F.
My questions are: a) anyone else been enhanced?
b) are the Pres. passes only goood when flying CO?
c) should I be upset, upgrading me with additional cost automatically?
d) what would you do?
Thanks.

Personally I would cancel the card and apply for an MBNA Amtrak Mastercard that permits you to earn miles on Continental in 5,000 mile increments for no annual fee. I would also obtain a Starwood AmEx which also permits conversion into Continental and AA so both of your bases would be covered.

Thanks for the tip TT, I may do that. Or not, I'll think it over.
But in answer to the OP, I received the upgrade and I then got an automated phone call today telling me to watch my mail for the great new offer. That always makes me suspicious.
As I understand it you can use the President's club pass any time you are in an airport that has one, you don't even need to be flying, although I can't imagine anyone going to an airport just to use it. The $99 certificates mgiht be useful, so I will at least keep the card long enough to get those certificates.

The World MC does have it's advantages (no-preset limit, concierge service, etc) and disadvantages (CL not reported on credit reports) but overall for about an extra $1.75/month, it's an upgrade worth having.
I personally like the President Club lounges so if you are not a frequent flyer, the two passes are great for when you have to travel (forget about waiting with the other folk at the gate).
