In April 2020 Chase criteria for approving BUSINESS card applications became more stringent. All Chase INK products are business cards. Chase also issues co-branded business cards for United Airlines (2 different biz cards), Southwest Airlines (2 different biz cards), Hyatt and IHG.
For general information about applying for Chase cards, including explanation of the unpublished 5/24 rule, please review the Wikipost of the PERSONAL card thread: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chas...ds-2023-a.html
Anyone can apply for a business card as a sole proprietor. If your business has a registered company name, which Chase can verify, you may use that name to apply. Otherwise, use only your legal First and Last name as the business name. Do not add any extra words, do not use a made up name. If Chase cannot verify the name the application will fail.

Note: The automated Status Line often shows no record of business card applications. This does NOT mean that there is a problem with your application. You will need to contact Chase to learn the status, or wait for Chase to contact you.
You can use a single Username on chase.com to manage both Business and Personal card accounts, but you will initially need to set them up separately, and then telephonically ask customer service to combine them by merging the Personal account into the Business account. It cannot be done the other way. Once personal account is merged to business account, if all business cards are closed while keeping one (or more) personal cards open, online access to all cards will terminate and a new personal (online) account will need to be created using a different username than previous personal account.
Update: It is possible now to link Business and Personal accounts online. First set them up separately, then log into the Business account and follow this click path: Icon at the top right that looks like a person -> Profile & Settings -> Account Settings -> Manage Linked Accounts. Then look for the "Link relationship" option for the personal accounts. For more information on linking accounts: How to link Chase personal and business accounts?

Air Cargo Coding as Travel?
Hello, planning on opening a CIP for my business, but wondering if anyone knows if air cargo will code as a travel purchase. The Amex plat codes air cargo fees as airfare purchases that qualify for 5X, however, I do not want to open another one for business and I feel that the CIP would fit better for my needs at the moment.

Applied for CSRB yesterday. No PUJ warning. Was 4/24 with one existing Ink card for this business (that card does not get heavy usage and we've had it for about 2 years - since the business opened). Got the 7-10 days message, then about an hour later got the approval email. Starting CL was $10K. The existing Ink card had a $13K CL which I was able to call and reallocate $10K of to the CSRB, though I did get the warning that reallocations to the CSRB are one-way.
For reference, I also have one other Ink card for another business with a ~$12K CL, a personal CSR (OG waiting on the update), and an OG Freedom card. Combined personal CLs are about $60K.
Definitely happy to get the 200K SUB, but doubtful I'll keep the CSRB long term.

Applied for Ink Cash on 10/7. Currently at 4/24, including CSP from 2/25 & Southwest Plus 11/23. Currently have Ink Unlimited and had recently closed Ink Cash (14 days) & Ink Preferred (40 days). Only HP on Experian in past 12 months was for CSP on 2/25. Got a letter dated 10/7 stating not approved because of "insufficient credit information". Credit Score: 846. (My Experian report looks to have plenty of information.) Called Recon before receiving this letter and was told I could not speak to anyone then but I could request a callback in 1-3 days, which I did. Callback rep was incapable of making decisions. Sounded to be coming in from overseas and just told me Chase would not be approving me, the decision was final and I had the option to reapply at any time.
Is this it? I have always been able to speak to an underwriter or someone capable of making decisions when I've asked in the past (re-eval success was probably 70-30)

P2 applied for the Ink Unlimited early this morning and got the normal "Thank you for applying... We'll review your application..." email.
When I call the # in the wiki to check the status, it says "No application in the last 30 days". It's been more than 12 hrs already. What is happening? Is it a good sign or bad sign? Thanks.

Feared this would be coming. I put big purchases on 0% cards and usually have a Chase biz card ready to move $20k of CL from. I also have a Freedom Flex card with a $67k limit (after moving other dormant CLs) that let me carry a $20k balance w/ under a 30% utilization. I recently opened another Amex Blue Biz Plus and for the first time ever was told I could not reallocate a portion of CL from my Blue Biz Cash card.

In the past, I think I've only noticed Chase (and Capital One/Barclays) doing this when either the economy is south (housing bubble, COVID, etc.) or when they *think* the economy is headed south.
I don't recall Citi or Amex doing this (at least to me).
But Cap One, Barclay, and Chase, definitely in the past.
I'll correct myself on Citi - the "store branded" cards like Home Depot, and Synchrony Bank with Lowe's. (if I routinely use the card, I've had a CLI as high as $23,000). Typically only use those for the 0% for 12,18,24 months. Then when I don't need any home improvement stuff, eventually they'll lower to like $2,500 or something.

Thank you. Unfortunately the quote is reminiscent of the old joke from my childhood: “how do you keep an idiot in suspense for 24 hours?” (Answer: “I’ll tell you tomorrow.”)

In all seriousness, this is very helpful information, additional details would be even more helpful.
Which cards? Completely unused or lightly used? Chase Biz (this thread) only ?
Thank you.

Just Chase business or also personal? How long since last usage?
We are solving this potential problem by eliminating all AF cards except those with free nights or other worthwhile perks. I don't think I have any Chase cards with $0 AF except CFU

Sure seems like Ink is dead for our household. Closed all 3 of my cards months ago, they have been dropping off my online account now but every 3 months I risk a hard pull on a new one and every time it goes to pending then rejected for having too much credit or not enough biz income. This wasn’t a problem when P1/P2 got 3 cards each last year (for legit business).
I tried again last night and still no go. I’m trying to get into other non-Chase products, but it’s looking like we will have to fall back on our BofA setup and just get straight cash rewards again.

This year, P2 is down to 1Ink card, and still getting denied for another. I am still OK. Just got approved for an Ink preferred (3 total). I think because I have biz income in & out of my accounts.
