Thank you. Substantially similar to last year. Many questions about Department Stores and Chase Pay will already have been answered here:

Chase Freedom 2018 4th quarter 5% categories: Wholesale club, Dept store, Chase Pay

Seems odd that they are promoting Chase Pay, but perhaps this is a first step in repositioning.

Chase to close Chase Pay app by early 2020

So odd to be supporting Chase Pay, I agree, but this means boo yah for SPay without having to go through the Chase Pay app. Make sure your Chase card in SPay is co-branded with the Chase Pay logo on the same screen as the card (right below or above it). I confirmed that it is still there. Glad to see Chase did not let Apple Card go unnoticed. Also, on the DFS earnings call, there seemed to be some sort of PayPal involvement in these 5% bonus programs, so PayPal is playing via these channels too.

But man, PayPal is everywhere. That alone is enough for me to hit the limit I find after my Discover quarter. Disney +, ebay, most online retail stores, theme park tickets online, etc.

This will be the sign-up page on the 15th: https://www.chasebonus.com/

It did not when this question was asked last year:

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/30213026-post42.html

...but the 2019 merchant list for the Department Store category may not be displayed until registration opens.

No, you will need to use Samsung Pay to get the 5% or use Discover who put Target (instore and online) and Walmart/Amazon (online only) in their Q4.

I see no indication that costco.com accepts PayPal.

I just looked at the PayPay gift card store...surprised to see Acorns (savings/investing app) on there selling $25 gift cards with no fee. Anyone buy one of these? Is it really just $25 to the recipients Acorns account?

Good to know. So I dug around a bit and see Airbnb and some airlines support PayPal. About time too, I got PayPal in 2006 and have used it for just a handful of little stuff.

The story appears to be that PayPal can offer lower fees especially with volume pricing than most direct online gateways. As such, I see PayPal option growing on many sites including places like Priceline.

Aside from this promotion, PayPal also reimburses return shipping a certain number of times a year for purchases made on retail sites.

I like the fact that retailers don't get your card number and another option to dispute transactions from a buyer perspective.

However, Costco does not appear to take it. There is still the loophole of Costco taking non-Visa online including for gift cards.

Do we expect that the PayPal category will include online transactions where the merchant uses Paypal as its card processor, and the customer pays by card without a PayPal account?
