Chase Sapphire Reserve National Car Rental Discount

For the airports I normally use, I've noticed that the National Car discount (INFINITE) offered by the Sapphire Reserve card often is only good for a few bucks off of the publicly available rate, sometimes $5 or less. I've found the Amex Platinum discount is a much better deal. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

I like the primary rental car insurance benefit offered by the card, but not if that means paying much higher car rental rates.

Use the Platinum discount code and pay with your Sapphire Reserve. That's what I do.

or book through the chase travel portal. Overall, i've found their rates to be consistently better than most discount codes out there.

Goto Costco Travel, select your location and dates, and then it will ask you to choose which rental agency you want to rent from.

Is there a National at the location you're booking at?

Yes. Just to make sure I'm not crazy and/or blind, I did a web search. Avis, Budget, Alamo, and Enterprise are the only companies that I see associated with the Costco car rental program.

Alamo, Enterprise and National are all owned by Enterprise Holdings. Perhaps the Costco agency books all three, even if they do not actively promote National?
