How do you use Chase Pay at a Walmart store? I've tried a couple of times and they are clueless on how to scan the QR barcode in the app.

Offer is PER CARD so you will get URs on both cards for purchases up to $325 on each card.

WM registers cannot accept Chase Pay, they have their own WalMart Pay app. The offer is good at walmartdotcom ONLY.

Speaking of the title of this thread, shopping at Kroger is probably one reason for using Chase Pay. Too bad they couldn't support the NFC based services as well.

Assuming you can actually get it to process. I placed an order via ChasePay 4-5 days ago and haven't had any shipment notification, and don't even have a pending charge on my card.

Oddly I didn't have any issues when they had this promo a couple of months ago, but this time....? Who knows. My order seems to have vaporized into the interwebz. I mean as long as I both don't get charged, and don't get the order, I guess I don't care that much, but I'd like this crap to actually work!

My walmart.com order using Chase Pay arrived promptly (and 10x points posted correctly, too). I'm satisfied.

Has anyone used Chase Pay at Starbucks? Its an adventure every time.

1/2 the time the cashier doesnt know how to scan it... I have to tell them which scanner to use. (they try to use the big bulky scanner used for gift cards)

And when they do know, and they hit the correct Chase Pay button on their register, it takes anywhere from 2-6 or more times scanning my phone for the transaction to go through. This is not their fault...it appears to be the software.....as sometimes the first couple times it said "Invalid Card"...until they try it again and it finally goes through

You could imagine the holdup sometimes at the drive thru....

This issue occurs at every Starbucks I go to....and has not improved over the 3 months I have used it.... Whats odd is that they tell me they get no support from Chase ....so why is Chase Pay advertising Starbucks on their app if they give no tech support on it to their vendors?

Chase Pay Wallet Card Limit?

All my other Chase cards are in Chase Pay wallet, but this IHG card is missing. Total I get 1 debit card and 6 CCs in my wallet. Is there any hard limit of the # of cards I can put in my wallet? like the Apply iPay?

I wouldn't be surprised if Chase Pay is a Visa-only thing. In fact, Chase Pay uses the Visa QR code standards (which I don't think exist on other networks). It'd explain what you're seeing, anyway.

As for limits on the number of cards, someone else may be better able to answer that question.

Yes IHG is the only MC I have with Chase. That may be the reason.

They really should convert that card to Visa (once whatever agreement they have with MC/IHG expires, of course), or else find a way to have it work with mobile wallets. Even if it never works with Chase Pay you'd think they'd allow it to be added to Apple Pay or similar. That's likely a subject for a different thread though. ^

It was VISA until ~2013 when IHG negotiated a contract with MasterCard:

The link sounds like that happened before Chase's push to be a mostly Visa issuer, though I'm not sure if that necessarily matters. I also don't recall if the contract came up for renewal recently or not (or how long these contracts usually last, even).

Chase negotiated a flat rate to use the Visa network (not a percentage cost), so any work to support MC beyond what is required by the co-branded partner is not of interest.

https://creditcards.chase.com/mastercard-credit-cards

I remember Chase Freedom had a prominent MC option, did all of those cardholders get converted? (Yes, in 2014. Hilariously, the conversion notes referred also to Blink, the contactless tech that was removed from all Chase cards. So sad.)

At its current rate, I expect Chase Pay to not survive. A few restaurant offers and the fuel offer that are too difficult to use (too much friction) are not going to work. Then, they further dropped their version of Amex Offers, so really not useful.

Maybe there is some hope for a compelling situation for me to consider using Chase Pay again, but I see more benefits this year to use Chase via Samsung Pay than Chase directly itself (so sad again).
