CPC data point

Over the weekend upgraded my account to CPC and applied for Sapphire Reserve at the bank. Denied and banker called recon line today for a 3 way conversation. Was told 7/24 (and she read off the list of cards and dates) so denial still stands despite being a Chase Private Client. Said CPC no longer excluded from 5/24 rule.

They gave me $10,000. I was also blown away by this amount.

I got my credit score from NerdWallet.com

Just curious were any of those 7 cards a chase business card?

Wife was approved for Chase Marriott biz at 32/24. Upon applying she got a notice to call in with app reference # but she didn't call and about 48hrs later get email that her card is on its way. Sole prop, no employees, new biz, $5k projected biz income.

So is 5/24 over for Business cards?

I believe the Marriott card is the only one not bound by 5/24. Chase cards plus the co-branded Southwest and United business cards fall under 5/24 rules.

Help with 3 card application strategy

Looking to apply for 3 Chase cards and want to figure out best way (minimum spend isn't issue).

Currently at 6/24 (with #6 being a Chase Business Card opened a year ago).
I drop to 4/24 by end of February, 3/24 in early March, and to 2/24 mid-May (assuming I'm correct about the Ink counting towards 5/24 status).

#1 card will definitely be the Reserve in branch to get the 100K while still available. The other cards I want are the new Ink with the 80K offer and just got targeted for 70K + $50 on United Explorer.

From my point of view, I'd prefer the Ink points but I think I could use the United card more because I want to get rid of my Presidential Plus as it's no longer worth the $400/year and my wife and I would be fine with us each having the Explorer.

If I want to apply for all three, is it better to apply for the first two on same day? Or should I be OK applying for each as soon as I drop below. The third app would have to be in May which I think should be enough time. Also - any inside info on the offers that makes it so that I should try to do one before the other. Or if I'm wrong about Ink being treated the same in 5/24, does that affect what order I should do these?

Thoughts?

I just wandered into a Chase branch in NYC asking for preapprovals. Before I even sat down they said "if you're looking for the Reserve, we no longer see preapprovals for that." Is that new?

Applied for the Hyatt card 12/15. Immediate approval with a huge credit line.
Applied for the Fairmont 1/8 when I heard it was going away, so less than 30 days between apps. I was ultimately approved 1/30 with a 5K credit line.
fyi I am over 20/24.

Are you a Chase Private Client or J.P. Morgan Private Banking Client?

I don't understand. Why are you asking? These are the Hyatt and Fairmont cards, which have are not subject to 5/24:
So I don't see how it makes any different how Flyin2 applied for them. No special tricks are needed to get approved for those specific cads that are exempt from 5/24. (But of course, it's only a small subset of Chase's cards that are exempt from 5/24; in many cases it seems to be their less popular cards.)
